
Western willet (Tringa semipalmata)
It is a strong animal, the largest species of its kind.
Adults lay grey eggs; they have a long, straight, dark, strong bill. Its body is dark grey at the top and lighter at the bottom.
Habitat:
Western willets are found in a wide variety of winter coastal habitats, including sandy shores, marshes and rocky intertidal areas.
Diet:
They eat a wide variety of invertebrates depending on the abundance and local habitat they can feed on insects, crustaceans, molluscs, polychaete worms and occasional fish, they feed at all times of the day, also depending on the local abundance of prey, the tide patterns and the moonlight.
Migratory bird with greater probability of sighting during the winter.
